Welcome to the Searchable Archives page. These archives
are large collections of court opinions and public laws
already published in individual files elsewhere on our website.
Instructions on how to use these archives are provided,
both in
Acrobat
and
Wordperfect
formats.
The ".exe" files are self-executing
zipfiles that will install large numbers of searchable
documents in acrobat format, in the new folder "c:\LRC
Archives\" on your hard drive.
For quick & easy download, simply click on the red
links, which will automatically place the entire set of
archives and instructions onto your hard drive ("c:\LRC
Archives\").
Besides using the (Boolean) search button to search
all cases at once, you can locate any individual opinion
by filename (year-month-day & case number, i.e. 00-12-26
A99-0036) and view or print it with Acrobat Reader.
NOTE:
Page Numbers: Slip opinion page numbers
appear at page bottom if the document was scanned from
a hardcopy. However, documents generated from Wordperfect
files contain page numbers inserted in boldface brackets.
Electronically generated opinion documents with paragraph
numbers do not contain page numbers, so as to avoid discrepancies
in print.
Download Time: We have done everything
possible to minimize the size of these downloads. A 28kps
modem may achieve an actual transfer rate of only 2.5
kilobytes per second. At this rate each megabyte of filesize
may take seven minutes to download. A 56kps modem would
double the transfer rate and thus halve the download time.
Remember, just as grass grows while you watch TV, file
downloading is automatic and you can do something else
(even on the same computer) while the download completes.
